i'm going to do a summer haul post later, but I wanted to share some summer picks with you already! hope everyone is enjoying summer and the weather too...
look at bottom of all the pictures for descriptions :)
Descriptions
Carried away lotion- smells sweet and fresh, and mosturizes skin well
B&B surf spray- Gives your waves a messy, beachy, texturized look
Oribe dry texturizing spray- adds volume and texture to blahish hair
Brazilian Keratin Therapy spray, shampoo, and conditioner by organix- I don't use the shampoo and the conditioner, but the spray alone works so well! Protects hair and keeps straight.
LA looks cashmere curls- For curly hair, this is a must. This gel is totally awesome, it moisturizes, keeps locks in place, and prevents frizz, all in one bottle!!
Mane n' Tail anti- dandruff shampoo- I used to have a bit of dandruff, but this shampoo completely takes all of it away! I use the olive oil one for xtra moistursing, but I'm sure the regular one works just as well. As long as you keep on using it, your dandruff should never be seen again yaaay! Even if you don't have dandruff, this is a great way to moisturize your scalp.
Coconut oil- Summer brings humidity, which usually brings dry hair. Get your smooth hair back with using this coconut oil! All you have to do is let it get to an ice creamy texture, then massage into hair. After that, put on a shower cap and leave it that way for several hours or overnight, then wash out. P.S. there are tutorials for this on youtube too! ;)
Hand Food lotion- this lotion is so amazing! i have really dry hands, kind of mild exema (or however you spell that..) which a lot of people have, but can't find a mild yet effective lotion, and this one is just perfect! If you use it at least once a day, I promise your hands will be a lot softer already, and it gets even better overtime.
Neutrogena Acne face and body washes- These washes smell sooo good, they are grapefruit scented! Plus, they help with acne on your face and body without overdrying your skin.
Olay complete UV moisturizer- I love this moistureizer so much because it has SPF 15 to keep the rays from damaging your skin, but it isn't sticky after I put it on and helps with my oily skin.
Covergirl Natureluxe gloss balm- light color shades without heavy synthetics, and smooths lips rather than dry it out like lipstick.
Benefit Cosmetics Posie Tint- A liquid blush that can be applied to lips and cheeks. such a cute pink color!
Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up!- such a cute little highlighter that really does "light up" cheekbones, especially with blush or posie tint (above) applied.
some people would call this a lifestyle blog, but anyhoo, Forget-Me-Nots is about style, interior decoration, DIYs, beauty, and much more ;)

Feng shui, hard to understand defintions, hobbies, summer, and life, wow this is a very long title and i'm even making it longer XD
So what is so awesome about feng shui, and what does it even mean, well I just learned both of those things today.
Definition-
Feng shui (
i/ˌfʌŋ ˈʃweɪ/ fung-SHWAY,[1] formerly /ˈfʌŋ ˌʃuːi/ FUNG-shoo-ee;[2] Chinese: 風水, pronounced [fɤ́ŋ ʂwèi]), or Fung shui, is a Chinese system of geomancy believed to use the laws of both Heaven (Chinese astronomy) and Earth to help one improve life by receiving positive qi.[3] The original designation for the discipline is Kan Yu (simplified Chinese: 堪舆; traditional Chinese: 堪輿; pinyin: kānyú; literally: Tao of heaven and earth).[4]
The term feng shui literally translates as "wind-water" in English. This is a cultural shorthand taken from the following passage of the Zangshu (Book of Burial) by Guo Pu of the Jin Dynasty
whaaaat does that mean? i guess Wikipedia (citing... is right there don't sue me...) can't make things simple. okay here's the simple definition if you are not a chinese know it all unlike me.
Simpler Defintion ;)
In Chinese, "feng" means "wind" and "shui" means "water." It is the Chinese practice of placing objects based on a belief in patters of yin. Supposedly targeting specific emotions and changing them.
What is Feng Shui? This is a simple question that can be difficult to answer. Feng Shui is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago in China. It is a complex body of knowledge that reveals how to balance the energies of any given space to assure the health and good fortune for people inhabiting it.
Feng means wind and shui means water. In Chinese culture wind and water are associated with good health, thus good feng shui came to mean good fortune, while bad feng shui means bad luck, or misfortune.
Feng Shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particularly on the idea that the land is alive and filled with Chi, or energy. The ancient Chinese believed that the land's energy could either make or break the kingdom, so to speak. The theories of yin and yang, as well as the five feng shui elements, are some of the basic aspects of a feng shui analysis that come from Taoism.

still confused? well let's try what i got out of this
Sarah's gist:
okay well i don't believe in all that buhdissm or however you spell it, but i think feng shui is a cool way of interior decoration. it is basically a way to follow, in my opinion like, an art concept, like watercolor painting for instance.
get it now? took me a while too...
anyway my point of giving you a feng shui is because i want to try more hobbies like dance, art, etc. this summer instead of being a lazy butt on the computer on the couch in the house all day when i could be getting outside doing something fun, i mean you gotta agree with that. so i was looking at a bunch of blogs the other day, and i came across this post about feng shui art, and i was like woaaaah! that looks cool! so anyway i looked up the definition and you can already tell that didnt help me so i looked at feng shui under images, that helped more... anyway so i encourage you to try do something fun this summer, get a hobby or do something useful. If you're thinking right now... well what kind of hobby, and then ur like i cant do this just stop cuz here's a list of some fun hobbies people i know like:
dance
swimming
art
photography
blogging
shopping ;) (my fave hobby)

finding new kinds of candy
writing movie reviews or just watching the movies if ur lazy like me XD

When you're a bit stressed
Do you have finals? Pressure about Graduating? Worried about if you can pass your classes? Well, if you are, don't worry, I know how you feel, except I'm not graduating yet, (thankfully.) Anyway, my mentality/philosophy during this time is: " Work. Work. Work. Even when everything is done work for extra points! There is no goal you think of that you can't achieve, if you put your mind to it. You may be tired, but you have what, a week left? Save the rest for summer and get done what you have to do. There's only a few days left, you can do it!!" Remember God is there for you too, He's the one to go to if you're feeling over-stressed. He will help you through it, if you ask for that, and guidence as well. Therefore, I encourage you, finish this year off with a BANG! (Whatever that phrase means...)
Print Jeans
I don't know why, but for summer, I've been planning on getting some print jeans. They are a super cute way to add some color and pattern to a white shirt and sneakers or boots. I don't really look good in pink, or like the color, but I had to make an exception for some of these jeans. I'm more of a light blue person. Baby blue is my favorite color. It's kind of a light, pretty, and mellow color. But, enough about color, let's see denim!
p.s. get these jeans at paige.com :)

Sia's music
Hey, I found this artist named Sia and she makes great music, just thought I would share it with you! The song of her's I like the most is Titanium DJ'd but David Guetta. It is something you can dance too, but kind of inspirational for some people too. Anyway, check it out below.( I also like The Girl You Lost To Cocaine. It sounds kind of bad.. but there is nothing wrong with the song, I promise! :)
okay, that's it.

Vintage American Apparel
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, it's just its getting closer to the end of the school year, and I got a lottt of work to do! But, I just found some cute vintage stuff at American Apparel! check it out below.
this dress is very victorian and vintage, and i love how it is tiered.. so pretty!
this is an essential bag. you could use it for work, going shopping, maybe a day walking around downtown, school, etc. It has a nice color and a little vintage touch i just luuuuv!
this outfit is very bold, with the blue shirt and pants. I like the shirt and pants seperately, but a little too daring for me together. i would pair the blue crop top with some floral jean shorts and brown oxfords or jeans and converse. as for the pants, I would probably roll them up into capris and pair it with a tee and some black boots and a bunch of necklaces.
this outfit is fashion forward and work forward. it has that kind of office teacher look to it, but at the same time, it looks more modern. put together, its awwesome!
I love the colors of this dress sooo much! The fabric gives it a less plaid but more modern and crisp look to it. the pastel color reminds me of the louis vuitton spring collection.... but a bit on the cheaper side ;)
I love the vintage look to this bag and reminds me of a Chloe bag I saw!
This dress is very light and spring/summery looking. i love the flats paired with it too, it makes it stand out more.
This shirt is very versatile and pretty, anyway you wear it. you could pair it with some floral, jean, or vintage shorts like this model did. or maybe some ripped blue jeans or even a skirt!
Again, I am conflicted. I love these pieces, but it is too daring to wear together for me. i would probably wear the shirt with jeans and flats to modernize it a bit and the maxi skirt with a blue or pink breezy silk top!
